The guides offer you daily full-day excursions and shorter tours to different
places in the area. Join us on our walks and discover places you would
not find on your own. Excursions and evening tours are guided in Swedish,
but we will give regular summaries in English. You sign up to our guided
activities in the station's lobby.
Ice climbing - vertical ice
Ice climbing is considered as the one of the most exciting forms of climbing. During this afternoon you'll try climbing frozen waterfalls. Tied into the rope, guided by the instructor, the ice axes and crampons become your tools for climbing the vertical ice wall down in the spectacular Abisko Canyon.
Included in the price: Instructor and ice climbing equipment.

Telemark ski course - free your heel and your mind will follow
Spending a day with a competent telemark instructor is inspiring and the best way to learn the tele turn or progress as a free heel skier. This day course can be adjusted to suit all levels, from novices to advanced skiers who wish to improve their skills. We will spend the day in the well-groomed slopes of Björkliden or at Mt. Nuolja, which offers a variety of excellent off-piste options.
Included in the price: Instructor, transfer and ski pass.

Backcountry peak tour - Mt Vassitjåkka
The north summit, 1361m, is the classic ski touring peak in this area. If you like a good sweat & love off-piste skiing- this tour is what you look for. We gain vertical meters and enjoy the world of alpine wonders. After a summit snack we turn to the fall line and rip down some 800 vertical meters of awesome skiing!

and safety equipment.

Nordic ski tour - Låktatjåkka
Waffles and skiing! This classic Nordic ski tour takes you to Låktatjåkka, a soulful mountain lodge situated at 1228 m. We enjoy the crispy waffles in front of the fireplace & recharge our batteries for the long glide all the way down to Björkliden. This is a Nordic touring in arctic Sweden, at its best!

Snowshoeing - wild winter hiking
Come and join us on an exciting snowshoe hike in the wild Abisko National Park. We travel gently through untouched snow and visit some of the park’s beautiful places. Surrounded by the Abisko Alps and the steep slopes of Mt. Nuolja track some of the park’s wildlife. We stop along the way and enjoy our packed lunch. Snowshoes are the perfect tools for anyone to experience Abisko.

Nordic ski touring – Learn how to ski!
Join us on a backcountry ski-tour for half a day. This is the tour for you
that have never tried skiing before or for you who just want to enjoy a nice
day in the Abisko National Park Included in the price: Guide, Nordic ski touring
equipment, backpack & packed lunch.

Avalanche awareness - safe off-piste skiing
To ski powder is the best thing in life for many skiers. There are risks inherent in off-piste skiing. What is an avalanche and how does one avoid avalanche terrain? During a day you will learn basic avalanche safety in the theoretical course, SLAO Lavin 0, practice companion rescue in MAMMUT Avalanche Training Centre and enjoy the best off-piste skiing that Nuolja has to offer.
Included in the price: Instructor, certificate, ski pass, and shovel, probe and transceiver.

The Sami Camp - unique culture
Come to The Sami Camp, an exhibition displaying how the Sami lived in the late 19th century. The camp is a reconstruction of a spring and fall residence from the time when the Sami lived as nomads. After a tour around camp, we enter the picturesque hut to gather around the fire, sip coffee and eat reindeer meat while discussing the Sami culture.

Slide show - Seasons
Come to Storstugan and enjoy "Seasons"- our 15 minute slide show, with music, about the Abisko area. The slideshow gives you a good introduction to the magnificent Abisko area. The pictures display spectacular seasonal changes during a year- everything from glittering snow and northern light in the arctic winter to the glowing midnight sun in the summer. Welcome!

During the evening our professional guides give their views and opinions on what’s hot and what’s not in the world of outdoor gear. Afterwards, you buy high quality gear & clothing with a discount in our store.
