Aurora Webcam
Updated every minute

The real-time aurora and blue-sky camera system is developed by Misato Observatory in collaboration with Swedish Institute of Space Physics. The camera is installed on the roof of Abisko Mountain Station.

Viewing tips
The picture you see is an all-horizon hemispherical view. This is what you would see if you were lying on the ground with your feet pointing to the south and looking up in the sky. UTC stands for Universal (Greenwich Mean) Time. Local time is for example in central Europe UTC+1 or Japan UTC+9.

24 hour movies
Click on the link below to watch movies of the Abisko sky. They are updated every day at 9.30 UTC. The movies are 20 MB/2.25 min. Choose month, date and download. The lights that sometimes flashes in the horizon are trains and cars passing in the distance.
